why would hot water pressure drop dramatically after new bathroom suite & shower fitted?

 We had a package of new bathroom and shower fitted but the tension of the hot water has dropped really low. Plumber said it is the design of valves (Toronto shower collection of B & Q)? Is this true clarification. Any help or au pair would be greatly appreciated.
