Security deposit charges in Houston?

 I rented this "luxury" complex in Houston, TX for 2 years, less than 2 sub-letting of contracts. I first had a hiring 12 months apart and then renewed for six months, then one month to three months (dates: 04/07 to 04/08, 05/08 to 10/08, 11/08- 1 / 09).

 I questioned the discrepancy at the time.

They can not charge you for painting unless you've done something to encourage him to be painted. Other wise that is rough wear and it is illegal for them to charge you for that.
